Ren Fair Continued…

I’m continuing my work on the corset, embroidery that will take a significant amount of time, I may do some bead work on it, I’m really anxious to get the main parts finished, but on a side note I’m going to finish a dress for a party either New Look 6806 or my vintage Butterick 5214, it’s a new pattern for spring/summer.

I have the Butterick top cutout and am sewing it together, or I may scrap the whole thing (til later, cause there is a deadline) and wear the new shirt I bought at Penney’s. Oh, the dilemmas of a young woman!

Keepin’ you updated!

Progress Continues!

The corset is coming along well, many hours were spent cutting and sizing the boning, (yesterday 6_15_08) then putting the panels together, it looks phenomenal, I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome thus far!

Sewing Project for a Renaissance Faire!

I posted a few days ago that I’m working from simplicity 3635 and I’m making a corset with over 30 yards of boning in it, wowsers, I have a few pics of the start of this project that I thought I would share.

One is the pattern pieces cut out and a close up of the striped fabric I’m using.  The skirt will be absolutely beautiful (Mccall’s 4090) it’ll be olve and rust colored panels, I’ll post pictures of that when I get started on it. I’m also making a man’s costume for my boyfriend, I’ll post that as it progresses.  And… I’m making a jet black corset (same pattern) for my best friend, it’ll be so awesome! Needle work and embroidery will need to be done on the corset in the colors from the skirt, I love details!

Etsy Shop

My etsy shop is http://portablegreen.etsy.com, I’m adding new products to the shop as quickly as I can, while I’m in the midst of other projects, like sewing, currently I’m in the process of creating renaissance costumes for myself and my friends for a fall renaissance faire this year, I’m using simplicity 3635 and it uses nearly 30 yards of boning! It will be a challenge, but one that I’m all ready for, I love to work on and create clothing especially corseted costumes, I will be posting pictures as this project progresses.

I am going to add a quick pic of a lovely landscape from a picnic I attended yesterday, it was a beautiful church picnic out in the country.
